Minimally ablative CO2 Micro-Fractional skin resurfacing is a ground-breaking system that increases the possibilities for busy people who want youthful, radiant, healthy looking skin.

This new technology is unique because it allows the skin to be treated with the most advanced laser technology (CO 2) for maximum impact and results, while experiencing the least risk of injury, side effects and downtime. It is also unique because for the first time in the history of CO2 skin resurfacing, it allows us to safely and effectively treat not only the face but other areas of the body such as the neck, chest, hands and arms. The CO2 laser wavelength can penetrate to the deeper portions of the skin, unlike other laser technologies that offer only superficial benefits. The Micro-Fractional CO2 laser delivers a precise matrix of micro-spots to the skin, which enables the Micro-Fractional laser to immediately shrink damaged tissue and stimulate the formation of new collagen in the deeper layers resulting in deeper rejuvenation results.

Our patients have been extremely pleased with their results, as this technology clearly surpasses that of the popular Fraxel Laser system. They love the immediate skin tightening and textural improvements that occur within the first 7-8 days after their procedure. Planning for your Micro-Fractional C0² laser treatment:

Consultation
First you will need to schedule a consultation with Dr. Castillo to discuss your skin concerns as well as the results you can expect.

The day of treatment
On the day of your procedure you will arrive to our office 1 hour before your procedure. We will administer an oral
pain medication and apply a topical anesthetic cream to assure you are comfortable. Therefore, you will need to have a family member or friend drive you home after your procedure . Once your skin is numb, the procedure will only take 20-30 minutes (depending on the treatment areas). Upon completion of the procedure, we will apply a ointment to your skin and you will be released to go home.

A post-procedural skincare kit will be sent home with you. Our Medical Skincare Specialist will carefully go over your instructions and answer any questions you may have before you leave our office.

Post-procedure
You may feel a sunburn sensation in the treated area. This sensation typically lasts only a few hours or less and can be relieved with an application of Aloe Vera gel.
You can expect some mild swelling for the first 48 -72 hours. Your skin will be red, then fade to pink, then tan over the next few days. The micro-crust that has formed over your skin will begin to peel off in 2-3 days for facial procedures. Other body areas may take a few additional days to peel.
You may cover with medical mineral cosmetics (available in our office) typically by day four.

Recovery time
While the ability to work is not impaired, plan to be away from work and social events for the several days. Recognizing that everyone heals at various rates, depending on the depth of the treatment, the area being treated and your individual healing rate.

The following are estimated recovery times:

Full face: 4 days
Chest: 9 days
Neck: 7 days
Arms: 7 days
Hands: 5 days
