This 41-year-old patient was seen requesting a breast lift and breast augmentation in our Champaign-Urbana surgical facility.  She explained that she has always had some breast droopiness, which became much worse after pregnancies, followed by a 35-pound weight loss.  Though pregnancies, weight loss and healthier lifestyles are things to be celebrated, they can also have many undesirable effects on the body; effects that can pick away at a woman’s self-esteem, confidence and femininity.  She also reported loss of volume (deflation) in the upper segment of her breasts, feeling that her breasts were too flat and unattractive.

After careful consideration, a plan was developed to best fit the needs of this patient.  Dr. Castillo advised two separate surgeries.  The first would be a breast reduction/mastopexy (lift).  This procedure involves reducing the size of the breast by removing tissue and skin, then lifting and re-shaping the breast and repositioning the nipple to create a firmer, attractive breast shape.

After waiting three months, the patient completed her transformation with saline breast augmentation surgery under the muscle.  As you can see in this patient’s 3-month follow-up pictures, the combination of these procedures eliminated the droopiness of her breasts and gave her the full, perky, youthful breasts she desired.  She feels relieved that she can now wear clothing that fits her active lifestyle with ease and once again feels attractive and confident.  You may also notice that at 3-months post surgery, it is difficult to detect her scars.  Can you find them?
